Benetas has increased its focus on environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategies, ensuring the organisation is working in the best interests of its customers, staff and the broader community.

The aged care provider has released its ESG policy statement, reflecting Benetas’ commitment to continued, holistic decision making that addresses customer care, social issues, governance and sustainability.

Benetas developed the ESG document as part of an integrated approach to its services, which include 12 aged care homes, three retirement communities, respite care and community health and care services.

Many of Benetas’ ESG practices are already part of our operations, particularly in the areas of organisational governance and through our mission to support older Victorians, their families and carers with high quality services and environments.

The new ESG statement will be shared with employees, managers and directors, partners and suppliers for the benefit of customers and the communities within which we operate.

In relation to environmental issues, Benetas is devoted to minimising the impact of operations on the planet by reducing its carbon footprint, conserving resources and investing in sustainability.

On social issues, Benetas is fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace, prioritising community engagement and stewardship, operating transparently with an adherence to ethical and legal standards.

Benetas is dedicated to meeting its governance obligations, completing regular customer satisfaction surveys, commitment to our Modern Slavery declaration, convening a Customer Advisory Committee among other measures that support our customers and their loved ones.

Benetas CEO Sandra Hills OAM said the aged care provider prides itself on being a responsible organisation and employer, prioritising the health and care of its customers, staff and the broader community.

“Our ESG practices not only contribute to our success as a business but also enhance our standing as a leader in aged care services,” Ms Hills said.

“They help support our organisation’s resilience and enrich our progress towards our strategic outcomes.

“As a leading provider of aged care services we understand the importance of preserving a sustainable environment for generations to come for our customers, their loved ones, our employees and communities.
