The Opportunity

Based in our Gisborne office, Benetas is seeking a Support Services Officer to join our dynamic Rural North West team. Working closely with the Community Health Care team and reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will provide administrative support enabling the effective delivery of regional programs and operational systems, whilst providing excellent customer service.

What You Will Do

  • Be the first point of contact for incoming enquiries and undertake appropriate front office duties as required:
  • Understand and be responsive to the individual needs of clients with an understanding of diversity 
  • Seek and respond to client and employee feedback to support the delivery of exceptional client service
  • Complete administrative and operational tasks in a timely and accurate manner to support the operating capacity of the regional team
  • Assist in the coordination of office services to ensure the regional team operates effectively and efficiently
  • Coordinate office services, regularly reviewing regional administrative tasks and prioritising in collaboration with other team members
  • Support the delivery of services by maintaining the accuracy and confidentiality of data in the client management system
  • Provide reporting on a range of areas to the Operations Manager, Rural North West.

About You 

  • High level of computer literacy in all MS office programs
  • Demonstrable experience in working within a busy team and performing a variety of administration tasks
  • Demonstratable good written communication skills in drafting and typing letters and preparing accurate and concise minutes of meetings
  • Demonstratable knowledge and experience in office protocol and display strong initiative and excellent time management skills
  • Demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills in liaising with a broad range of people 

Desirable

  • Experience in the aged care or health services sector
  • Or experience of government-funded packages, community resources, and relevant legislation in the provision of aged care services
  • A proven ability to take a holistic approach to client needs and service delivery 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to demonstrate empathy and understanding to older clients and their families
  • A positive and proactive approach to working collaboratively within a team and the broader community
  • An understanding of the issues experienced by aged care clients and their carers in the home and the differing social, spiritual and cultural needs of clients
  • Ability to provide or obtain police check
