The role

We're seeking a Maintenance Officer for our residential aged care home called The Views in Heidelberg. This home is a warm and welcoming aged care residence that combines apartment style living with personalised care and home to 103 residents. Each resident has access to their own beautifully decorated private room with ensuite, along with an airy open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge. As our Maintenance Officer at Benetas you will be responsible for routine building and grounds maintenance to help ensure a safe and good looking home for the residents. 

• Maintain a safe and attractive living environment to suit the needs of the residents
• Identify and prioritise resident needs to create a more home like environment
• Assist in the selection of trades people to undertake specific tasks
• Maintain a planned preventative program along with ensuring documentation requirements are met
• Attend to the maintenance of buildings, ground and utilities in line with the schedule

About you

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a trade, domestic repair, general handyman + Certificate / experience in a relevant trade
• Experience with an electronic maintenance management system
• Experience in identifying standards as they relate to the provision of building maintenance
• A genuine interest in learning new skills, being outdoors and hands-on who will enjoy chatting with residents
• A commitment to continuous improvement that enhances resident lives
• Friendly and personable to interact with the residents 

Experience in Maintenance Officer positions is required. Experience in aged care or disability is highly desirable.

• Approx $71,300 per annum + superannuation
