The Role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Village Manager – Operations and Sales to lead the day-to-day management of a large retirement living community.

This is a broad leadership position combining village operations, resident engagement, people leadership, property management, financial management and sales. You will create a positive and connected community for residents while ensuring the Village operates effectively, sustainably and in accordance with relevant legislation and Benetas standards.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, motivate and support the Village team, creating a positive, accountable and resident-focused culture
  • Build strong relationships with residents and ensure their feedback, requests and concerns are addressed appropriately and promptly
  • Oversee Village operations, including property and asset management, maintenance, budgets, compliance and administration
  • Lead sales administration and coordination, building relationships with prospective residents and supporting sales, settlement and unit turnaround activities
  • Develop a strong sense of community through resident engagement, activities, wellness initiatives and connections with the broader local community
  • Manage operational expenditure and contribute to annual budgeting, reporting and continuous improvement
  • Ensure the Village operates in accordance with relevant retirement living, OHS and other legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Work collaboratively with Benetas teams including Sales and Marketing, Finance, Property, Maintenance and other service areas

The Village comprises 158 independent living units together with community facilities, infrastructure and common property, making this a substantial operational leadership opportunity.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a complex service-based operation, ideally within retirement living, property, community services or a related environment
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the ability to motivate teams, build accountability and lead change
  • Strong commercial and financial capability, including experience developing and managing operational budgets
  • Experience managing property, assets, contractors and/or significant physical resources
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with residents, families and key stakeholders
  • Well-developed sales and commercial skills, with experience supporting customer acquisition, sales processes or business growth
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple operational priorities independently
  • Confidence working with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, data and operational reporting
  • A relevant qualification in Business, Property Management or another related discipline
