The Role:

We're looking for a Village Manager of our Eastwood Retirement Living Village. Recently acquired by Benetas, this East Gippsland community of 158 units, built between 2011 and 2020, is fully occupied and boasts a community centre, gym, indoor heated pool and bowls, cinema facilities, community workshop and a hair and beauty salon. Some of your duties will include:

  • Build lasting, inclusive relationships with residents, ensuring their voices are heard and their village home experience is exceptional
  • Oversee day-to-day village operations, balancing management duties with hands-on engagement to create a welcoming and supportive community
  • Assist to drive sales, complete home reinstatements and maintain occupancy levels, collaborating with the Sales Manager to achieve commercial goals
  • Deliver a high standard of resident-focussed service, fostering participation in activities and ensuring residents feel connected and valued
  • Lead and coach the on-site team to excel in customer service and operational excellence
  • Ensure the financial stability of the village by preparing budgets, managing costs, and providing transparent financial statements
  • Maintain compliance with the Retirement Villages Act and relevant reforms, while adhering to the Retirement Living Code of Conduct
  • Oversee maintenance and presentation of village infrastructure, meeting and exceeding resident expectations
  • Work alongside the external Owners Corporation Manager to ensure shared spaces and common property are well maintained and managed

About you

  • A proven track record in operational management, with strong experience in retirement living viewed favourably
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and build high-performing teams
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the maturity to interact with residents with empathy and respect
  • Commercial acumen and sales experience, with a focus on maintaining occupancy and fostering a positive reputation
  • A strong understanding of the Retirement Living Code of Conduct, the Retirement Villages Act and associated regulations
